INVESTMENT IN NEW HIGH-PRECISION TECHNOLOGY IMPROVES FIT & FINISH, AESTHETICS, DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION

3X Faster with Higher Quality Output
Dant Clayton’s state-of-the art plate laser and tube laser machines improve product accuracy and reduce lead times.

Plate Laser
The new plate laser can cut through carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless steel up to 1 1/4″ thick. It will be used for the company’s stadia side as well as the railing division, Tuttle.

Customers will notice holes are extremely accurate and have a superior edge quality and finish, which is repeatable from part to part.

Highlights:

  • Offers robust design options with intricate details
  • Tight tolerances and unmatched accuracy are now consistently delivered
  • Part numbers are etched into the plate, making product identification and assembly more efficient
  • Plate-to-plate notching makes for a precision fit
  • Superior edge and a high-quality finish
  • 2 – 3 times faster than the plasma table, leading to reduced lead times

Tube Laser
When John Griffith led a group during a tour of Dant Clayton’s new tube laser equipment, his pride and enthusiasm were unmistakable.  “What this means for us, and what this means for our customer, can’t be overstated,” said Griffith. “It means a seismic shift in how work gets done and improves the quality of the final product.”

"This state-of-the-art equipment delivers greater control over the fit and finish. The cuts are precise and clean, leaving no burs. The potential for sharp, sheared edges becomes a thing of the past. It’s versatile, in that it can cut aluminum, steel, and stainless, as well as multiple shapes from rectangle to square or round tubing."

Gains Across the Board

Architects, owners, construction managers, installers and Dant Clayton team members all stand to gain from this new technology.

Historically, moving product from one place to the next in the plant was time consuming due to handling, handoffs, and bundling product. This new technology is user-friendly and virtually maintenance-free.

Railing Division to Benefit from Tube Laser

“This is huge for us,” said Quinn Tuttle, President of Tuttle, Dant Clayton’s railing division. “It will help us on the front end, and because it creates such tight tolerances, we can minimize our welds, which will make our clean up and polishing more efficient. Our railing will have jewelry-grade tolerances at 1/32nd of an inch, and we expect that will excite our customers in sports construction and the commercial sector.”

Because of nesting capabilities, waste is minimized, and every inch of material is utilized. “Our cable railing has many holes for the cable to run through. Now all the holes will be done through the tube laser in minutes. Same goes for our LED lighting.”
